Set in the scenic Waterberg Mountains lies the small Bushveld town of Modimolle (previously named Nylstroom). The Sotho name Modimolle refers to the mountain, meaning the ‘God(s) have eaten.’

This tree-rich area is well known for its hiking trails, big game, outdoor adventure activities and birding. The imposing Kranskop Mountain that rises above the surrounding landscape is a natural beacon on the N1 Highway that runs between Pretoria and Polokwane en route to the Kruger National Park.

Weddings

Modimolle Funky Stay is the ideal destination for both large and small weddings.

The beauty of the surrounding bushveld creates the perfect setting for outdoor weddings, easily hosting up to 60 guests. Say “I do” amidst cowering trees, hillocks and country life.

Intimate weddings for smaller groups can be held in the conference room, where the unique venue can be transformed with a red carpet, podium and chairs decorated with tiebacks, flowers and more.

The Restaurant is just a stone throw away and guests will enjoy lunch or dinner in this feel-good setting.

Conferencing

Situated on the first floor of one of Modimolle Funky Stay’s A-frame hotel buildings, the new conference hall offers modern conference equipment and flexible seating arrangements for up to 30 delegates.

The venue also has a front view of the hotel’s pond that attracts some of the prolific birdlife from the nearby Nylsvley wetlands area.

With its airy white interior, wooden beams and colourful interiors, this is a relaxing place to have a small conference, workshop or team building session. The hall offers standard conference equipment such as a whiteboard, projector etc. Should you need more advanced conference equipment, we can hire it in for your event.

The colourful and very comfortable beanbags lend a warm, fun element to the venue. They enhance the age-old ‘traditional fireplace’ concept of seating people in a circle to encourage teamwork and open spiritedness when sharing and communicating with others.

An added bonus for conference organisers is the hotel’s barbeque boma and large Bushveld grounds that provide ample space to offer a variety of outdoor teambuilding or social activities for conference delegates.
