Leriba Hotel and Spa in Centurion hosted “Die Oesfees” / The Harvest Festival @ Centurion from 1 – 3 May 2015!

The festival was a resounding success, integrating good food and wine, education and the protection of our natural heritage!

More than 44 of the country’s top wine producers participated and have already booked their spots for next year”.  Stressing how well-organized and well attended the event was, Stephni Naude, representative of Middlevlei Estate, had the following to say:  “We would not have wanted to be anywhere else.  We had so much fun with the visitors who came to our stand and the atmosphere was fantastic.  We will definitely be back next year.”

Jackie Stofberg of Van Loveren Family Vineyards said they will never miss the Harvest Fesitival at Leriba as the attendance was unbelievable. “It is without a doubt a festival that should not be missed by either exhibitors or visitors.”

The much-anticipated wine festival kicked off with a Grape Stomping on Thursday, 30 April ’15.

Guests knee-deep in barrels of grapes enjoyed champagne and wine by L’Avenir Wine farm and fresh honest food offerings prepared by the chefs of Leriba Hotel and Spa.

During this event Skip Scheepers auctioned off various prizes and hampers.  All funds are being donated to the Sanparks Honorary Rangers in support of anti-poaching initiatives.  During the festival on 1 – 3 May, donations were also made to CANSA, the Endangered Wildlife Trust and Sanparks Honorary Rangers.  These funds / donations are being administered by Griesel Nel Auditors.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday visitors were treated to some of the country’s best wines and thousands of cases were bought.

The interactive cooking shows, of which all ingredients  were supplied by Pick ‘n Pay, had mouths watering, but the likeable Johan Badenhorst, presenter and producer of  Voetspore, was a highlight with not only his delectable cooking, but also with his fascinating tales of travels through Africa.

The Harvest Festival @ Centurion was also a first for those interested in technology as Tom South Africa, designed a special App specifically for the festival, directing visitors exactly to where they wanted to be.

The Harvest Festival is an annual event and the date for 2016 is 30 April – 2 May 2016!
