Thonga Beach Lodge is set on the pristine shores of the Maputuland coast, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. This 24-bed luxury lodge is the ideal place to discover one of the most unspoilt wilderness beaches left on the African continent. Mabibi is a magical place of coastal forests, grasslands, bush, shimmering lakes and exquisite sandy beaches. Its crystal clear, warm waters offer South Africa’s best snorkelling and fantastic off-shore scuba diving.

Set above a secluded bay, Thonga Beach Lodge is nestled into beautiful coastal dune forest with sweeping views of the stunning beach below. The thatched bush suites provide guest privacy and were carefully constructed to ensure minimal impact on the environment.

The lodge offers luxurious accommodation, mouth-watering meals and one of the best dive sites in the South Africa.

Thonga Beach Lodge is situated only metres from the beach and a 25 minute drive from Lake Sibaya (Southern Africa’s largest freshwater lake), which is part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, now internationally recognised as a World Heritage Site.

We can provide the following for the bridal couple as part of our wedding package which include a 3 night stay:

•    Ceremony and local minister (Excluding registration process, marriage certificate and Minister’s accommodation – subject to Minister’s availability.)

•    Wedding dinner or luncheon or champagne breakfast (for guests staying at the lodge only)

•    Open seating for guests alongside the bridal couple, limited to the number of guests allowed at the lodge.  If more seats are required for more non-lodge guests, there will be an additional charge

•    Sparkling wine in honeymoon suite with a surprise gift

•    Bridal bouquet and buttonhole for groom

•    Wedding cake (variety of options available)

3 nights at Thonga Beach Lodge & 2 nights at Kosi Forest Lodge includes sparkling wine & welcome note upon arrival at lodges. Thonga Beach Lodge includes a private poolside or beach deck dinner and private picnic in the dunes and back. Kosi Forest Lodge includes a private leisure activity (weather dependant), private dinner and aromatherapy outdoor bath.

With 60kms of pristine, soft white sandy beaches to explore, it’s about as far away from civilisation as you can get.

Rest up in our air conditioned rooms with views of the Indian Ocean, indulge yourself in massages and beauty treatments at our Sea Spa, or take romantic walks along the deserted beach.  If you want to be more adventurous then try your luck swimming with dolphins and whale-sharks, snorkel around our rock pools, kayak along the shores of Lake Sibaya and at the end of the day enjoy mouthwatering cuisine and candle-lit dinners.
