Savannah Game and River Resort are situated in the Free State just outside Parys, nestled in the Vredefort Dome World Heritage Site. The Game Reserve borders 8km of natural Vaal River frontage. The reserve is home to 25 different mammal species which includes Rhino, Buffalo, Giraffe, Sable, Zebra, Kudu and many more.

Our Wedding Venue was created from a dream then materialized into a beautiful reality of where lifelong promises are made.  This is a SPECIAL place to celebrate your SPECIAL day.

Our venue can comfortably seat up to 200 guests where they can relax with cocktails overlooking the beautiful Vaal River watching the sunset, while you are having photographs taken in idyllic spots on the Reserve.

Our menu is created to tantalize your taste buds where you find yourself spoiled for choice. You can dance the night away or catch up around a big bon-fire alongside the river.  We have a great staff compliment who is dedicated to making your special day the success you want it to be

This is where the sunsets explode in brilliant colours of Orange and Red against the mountains of the Vredefort Dome. Your wedding day will be enjoyed and remembered forever by you, your family and friends.

From US to YOU

Our WEDDING GIFT to you will be the Main Lodge for the night before your wedding. It has 3 double rooms (This can be converted to single beds) all with en-suite bathrooms. The Main Lodge has a lounge, dining room with full DSTV. What a perfect place for a bride to gather with her entourage for some pampering the night before her big day.

A Boma braai evening can be organized for you, close friends and family the night before your wedding day (Or anything that you desire)

•    St Helena River Chapel

This is a beautiful open aired Chapel which is on the banks of the Vaal River. While you say “I Do” the river quietly meanders past and the sun sets behind you, your guests sit under ancient White Stinkwood trees. There are beautiful old wooden benches, covered straw bales or three different designed chairs to choose from.

There are black and white chair covers or white cushions that you can recover yourself with a colour of your choice. You can walk down the aisle either on a carpet or on a bed of natural leaves.  We have a supplier of runners that could give you a colour of your choice to match the theme of wedding day if you prefer.

•    A Raised Thatch Chapel Deck Overlooking a Watering Hole

We have a raised Chapel under a thatched roof next to a watering hole. Guests can sit on covered chairs, wooden benches or even straw bales. The deck can be decorated with natural leaves and trees. You can either walk down the aisle on a carpet or on a bed of leaves.  There is a supplier of runners that could give you a colour of your choice to match the theme of wedding day if you prefer.
