Welcome to Sani Valley Lodge

A unique blend of luxury, nature and activities!

Sani Valley Lodge is a private nature lodge only 2 hours from Durban. It sits within the dramatic Drakensberg mountain range, borders a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the closest luxury lodge to the famous Sani Pass.

The reserve has a very limited number of secluded luxury lodges designed to accommodate couples, families and small groups, all with the choice of full / selfcatering. Within the valley sits one of the largest privately owned lakes in South Africa. The lodges are scattered on the edge of the lake which is surrounded by a variety of antelope, zebra, baboons and other wildlife. This is one of the very few animal reserves in the Drakensberg, further enhanced by the vast lake which attracts unparalleled birdlife. The fishing is well renowned with regional records being attributed to the size of the lake.

The low number of secluded lodges makes Sani Valley feel like your very own private holiday home and is the perfect place to relax and have fun. One can indulge in a massage, be taught how to fly fish, go otter spotting by canoe, lounge in the Jacuzzi, be taken game viewing on horseback, drive a 4X4 up the famous Sani Pass, hike to the Bushmen paintings and more.

Honeymoons

We have exclusive Honeymoon Lodges situated on the Lake, with Jacuzzis and “five star” finishes, they are the ideal honeymoon getaway. Sunsets from your own “bath with a view” and sunrises from the king size bed will be difficult to forget. Privacy is paramount and tranquility is a given. Spar treatments on your deck overlooking the Southern Drakensberg Escarpment watching your partner sip champagne in the Jacuzzi is a honeymoon moment which is very hard to beat!

To ensure you have the Honeymoon that you dream of, please complete the questionnaire that we supply you when you make a booking. That way we know what interests you and how we can assist you in making your Honeymoon unforgettable. We make honeymoon packages tailored to each individual couple.

On arrival you will receive a chilled bottle of Champagne and a box of irresistible chocolates to set the mood for your stay. We also like to include a small gift so that you don’t forget us.

A Picnic lunch out on the boat, or down near the waterfall away from everyone is a lovely experience. When you eventually make it back to your lodge a quiet Jacuzzi before dinner (set up in your Lodge, with candles) whilst the sun sets over the lake will be a memory forever etched on your mind.

For the more adventurous, a quad-bike ride in Lesotho or a game viewing ride on horseback or even a hike up to the Bushman Paintings should make you tired enough to enjoy a full body massage by our experienced masseurs on the deck overlooking the lake.
